Local Bookshops

St. Oswald's Hospice Book Shop

161-163 High St, Newcastle upon Tyne NE3 1HE, UK – 0191 284 7298

I love this shop. It's clean, smells great, has a great collection of books and prices aren't ridiculous. The staff make the shop, they are so helpful and friendly and will look in the back for you if you are looking for particular books/authors.

There's usually always something in here you'll find interesting to read, with lots of fiction and a fair amount of non-fiction too. Though the choice of the latter is fairly limited if you're looking for something on a particular subject it's worth popping in on a regular basis as you never know what will turn up. There's also a decent selection of DVDs and CDs to choose from and the price of everything is about as low as you'll find in any charity shop. Remember that, above all, you'll be contributing to a very worthy cause by your custom and if you've got anything they could sell which would otherwise go in the bin, why not consider making a donation too?
