Katherine's Florists Ltd

59A High St, Newcastle upon Tyne NE3 4AA, UK – 0191 285 8213

Used Katherine’s florist many times. I’ve purchased many stunning bouquets 💐 for special occasions throughout the year for friends and family. Their staff are really helpful and can help you make up bespoke flower arrangements in the shop. And if you are in a hurry they often have some lovely bouquets already made up and ready to purchase. They did let me down once on Valentines Day a couple of years ago though. Apparently it was a busy period and the flowers never arrived. Oops. My only main issue is the lack of parking bays nearby. The Main Street has double yellow lines and the bays nearby on the side street are for residents. There is a car park nearby though on the opposite side of the road 100m away.

Great service. Booked online and paid extra for next day collection. Was the quick and was told I had been accidentally charged extra. They offered some more stuff or a refund. Opted for a refund and was followed up the next day (did not have to remind). Would definitely recommend.

Absolutely spot on! As a florist myself I have ridiculously high and unrealistic expectations and am always nervous ordering flowers from other people but I need not have worried! My husbands flowers were perfect! Amazing customer service to boot! Thank you so much.

I ordered a floral bouquet from the USA for our daughter's 40th birthday. I placed the order a week in advance of requested delivery that arrived on time and exceeded expectations. The flowers were exactly like the website description and photo- only more beautiful and as fresh as if just picked!! Our daughter was thrilled and surprised with the gift- and with the second attempt at delivery after usual business hours. Warmest and heartfelt thanks to the entire FLORAL QUARTER Team for your outstanding product, artistic design and exceptional personal service!

Tips - Caring for your flowers once they are delivered

Placing your flowers in vase half to two thirds full with lukewarm water, will help closed buds to start opening.

  • Be careful when un-wrapping a hand-tied bouquet as it is delivered in a water bubble to keep the flowers fresh.
  • Arranging your flowers in cold water should be avoided as this can reduce the their life in the vase.
  • Avoid puting flowers in metal or aluminium containers - glass is ideal. Keep your flowers in a cool location, away from draughts, direct heat or sunlight. Arrange once unwrapped
  • Your flowers may take up to 24 hours after being placed in water to reach their full potential.
  • Strip off all excess foliage and leaves below the water level to reduce any harmful bacteria within the water.
  • Bacteria can block the stem and stop the flowers taking up the water.unwrap. Flowers like their stems trimmed. So, trim them, at an angle with a knife (rather than scissors) by an inch or so. When trimming stems, always cut at an angle of roughly 45degrees; this increases the surface area allowing your flowers to absorb more water.
  • If a Rose starts to droop at the head, re-cut the stem, wrap the head in paper to support it upright and plunge 5cms of the stem into boiling water for about 30seconds. Cut the stem again and place in deep cold water for two hours.trim

Most orders are accompanied by a sachet of cut flower food which will encourage buds to open and help to prolong the life and beauty of your flowers. Top up regularly with water and flower food, removing any fading flowers. Ensure the floristry foam used in arrangements is moist and topped up daily; this helps to prolong the life and vibrancy of your arrangements.
